I keep getting a code 34 which means mass air sensor. It idles fine and does not stumble when you tap on it.Maf numbers at idle are 6 and 7 motor does not change when you unplug the harnrss.I tried a friends maf from a low mile car and dont get a code.Bumper to bumper car parts can get one for 119.00 canadian with one year warranty.Opinions welcome thanks John

It's prob a bad maf if your friends works on yours.

Make sure it's not vibrating on anything when you install new one, has a lower life when that happens.

Sounds like a bad MAF to me. Can you get any boost, or does it fall over when you try? Personally I wouldn't get a new stock MAF, I would move up to the LS1 MAF + Translator Plus. That's what I did and the driveability increased dramatically.

thanks but the car still seems to run alright but im getting more knock now and its throwing a code

Which is it? Is it running alright, or is it knocking and throwing a code?

Fix the MAF. Skip the replacement OEM and step to the LT1 or LS1 + translator. The rebuild original styles don't last long.

It seems to drive and idle alright but as soom as i reset the ecm it sets code 34.It does not knock until im 20 plus lb of boost im using alky

When I did mine I bought the Translator Plus. The only difference it the Translator Plus allows you to change the timing (Which I still have yet to splice in).

I went with a Granatelli Motorsports LS1 MAF, and a solid MAF pipe and Big Mouth Cold Air kit from Mark at BuickGN.com.

I couldn't be happier, everything works like a dream.
