I see a lot of people on here have the tt lt1 maf sensor. Was wondering what benefit you get out of that if any?. Also why is that a better choice than the ls1? I have the 5.7 tt chip and 60lb inj. Is that more for some1 who is going to use it to tune the air/fuel ratio?

Way better. But you ll have to get a maf translator. The ls1 maf is bigger than the lt1
Maf.

The larger 3.5" MAF will give you less pressure drop. It's a lot easier to retrofit the 3" sensor in place of a stock MAF. Plus the 3" units are easier to find.

If you're building a MAF piping system from scratch the 3.5" would definitely be worth it. If you're ditching the stock POS sensor, the 3" will work with most peoples existing MAF pipe and air filter setup.

i saw the translator on tt website also. just wanted to make sure the bang was worth the buck. thx guys

It is definitely worth the buck. Ditching the stock MAF make your car run better, add some simple tuning capability AND, most importantly, save you the hassle of running around in circles when the stock MAF decided to screw with you for no reason.

The Translator was not invented to make the turbo Buick perform better. It was invented because the original MAFs that were discontinued were failing and there were no good aftermarket re mans. The 3" and 3.5" MAFs are readily available in the salvage yards as millions of cars were produced with them as standard equipment. The 3.5" becomes necessary when we make more power and are moving more air. The best way to take advantage of the Translators and MAFs is to use them in conjunction with the Extender or Extender Extreme chips as these chips allow the computer to measure actual airflow and adjust according to that information. The Extender chips and the 2nd gen Translators, when used in conjunction with each other, make for a highly adjustable engine fuel and spark managing system. If your original MAF is good, you're good to go.
