Is anyone here running a MAF GEN II translator?? Just trying to get some information as far as rpm, gas and air numbers on the GEN II that people might have theirs set at? I installed the GEN II translator but car is missing really bad like when I had a injector problem. All I did was add a 3.5 cold air package had my chip re programmed for new MAF and Gen II translator? Was reading some instructions but there is alot of info as far as adjusting the timing and also air and fuel? Or maybe I should just get rid of this darn thing and get a regular MAF translator??? :D. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance ..

Suggest you get a hold of Bob Bailey (TurboBob) on the board who is the creator & mastermind behind the GenII, SM, etc, etc, etc.
If you give him your base numbers / settings, I'm sure he'd be able to get you sorted out.

Am happy with mine, took a bit of playing to get comfortable with it, don't be afraid to make some changes....

What chip? What maf? Plug and play harness or hardwired?

What are your maf in and out settings in the gen2?

Rick

Will get back to you on in and out settings because I have no clue what that is. :D. I have not attempted to make any kind of adjustments other then the basic settings as far as setting which style MAF what style chip etc.. ll read a little more today about it and im sure I can find that out. I have the extender extreme G with the LS1 MAF and the plug and play harness?

The gen2 has to be configured for the application. Maf in and out settings are critical.

Run through the system settings and configuration. Post back with any Q's.

Rick

You've got a malfunction code 44 & Knock Retard of 4.5. Best to stay out of the boost unless you want to be replacing head gaskets soon.
Code 44 means you have a Lean O2 sensor…not sure if it's working properly or not, but you might want to swap it out for a new one. Denso O2 sensors are one of the best for these cars. You can get this from many vendors on the board .

Here's a handy reference on the error / malfunction codes . Check out code 44.

What should my O2 be at idle? >750

I do have an exhaust leak on the driver manifold. I'm working on correcting it.

Get your exhaust leaks fixed & then see how it affects your numbers. You may need to add some more fuel thru the GenII , but first things first. Fix your exhaust leaks before doing anything else.

Will do, that's was a question of mine also. How to add fuel?
I will definitely get leaks fixed first.
Then update. Thanks.

I'm terrible at it too but you got to read the genII directions. ;)

To add fuel to the entire tune use "Mainscale"

To add fuel to just idle area use "Low Tune Page" add fuel to the 800-1200rpm ranges.

These are the scanmaster reading. We need to know the setting inside the GenII "Maf In" and Maf Out" .

I had that problem when I first put mine in with an Extender chip. Turns out I misread the instructions and didn't have it set up right.

I'd zero everything out and start over before trying to mess with the fuel. After I did that to mine it worked fine and only needed small adjustments. Without a scanmaster I wouldn't have been able to tell anything was off at all it ran so well. Depending on the chip the timing adjustment won't do anything.

Maf output - GN Ext/pro 6cyl
Displacement 3.84 - bored .020 over
Load source - use maf/rpm

No aux
Vout1 - spk ctrl
