I have a code 34 for a while now and changing to modern MAF/translator did not solve problem. The B terminal on sensor is grey -red stripe of which I am getting 1.5 volts with key on; schematic says this should be ckt 492 going to pin B6 but Yellow?? It looks like grey/red goes to B6-CONFUSED

Looking at other schematic and shows grey/red wire from terminal B circuit 920 going to pin B6. Still a little fuzzy here???

I don't know why but some of the wire colors in the schematic are wrong. Grey w red stripe is signal. Did you check for power on the pnk/blk wire? Also check the ground on the black.

Checked power sensor(pink black) has power-10.5 volts w/key on. I'm guessing I can jump this out to ECM with a jumper wire and would indicate short in grey/red wire.any and all common bad ground locations would be good to know as well: not a mechanic by trade but very tenacious .

Did you use the black wire as the ground for testing?

Next I would plug in the translator and do the same test on the maf plug coming out.

I don't know what would happen if you jump power to the signal. I would advise not to try it.

Rick

Yellow wire out of translator is reading 5.07v; Red wire is reading 11.75v (both using blk plug wire as ground) . Any and all ideas entertained at this point... Getting tired , definitley time to call it a night.

Chip is TT Street chip 93 ; translator settings are as per instruct w/ adj settings off,is set for 3"LT1 lean; the 4 sm switches are at on, on, on,off. S. O. S.

Double checked translator settings(fresh eyes), mode switch is on on on off; Base switch is # 3, wot is at 0. Did voltage tests on sod translator are right to left w/ key on: pink 12.59,blk,.020, green 9.25, yellow 5.06, blk .21 and pink 12.58. Getting 1.6v out of terminal B, any insights based on these readings? As soon as I can get an assistant want to take some readings while running. Thank You again

Did you check for continuity of the wire that connects terminal B6 and terminal B of the MAF connector?

Base setting put to one, getting 1.6v out of term B w/ .95 at wire before enters cabin too late to start in my neighborhood ; will be back at it in the A M
