This is just what i've read so I can't guarantee it's 100% accurate but....
They aren't available from GM anymore so if you HAVE to have a GM maf, used ones show up from time to time in the parts for sale section. I think most people buy the remans from advance auto or a similar chain store. they don't last as long but you can get a lifetime warranty on some and keep taking it back when it dies. Stay away from ones with an hourglass shape to them. I will be going with a translator + when mine dies but that would cost you a lot more. Hope this helps.

After having to limp the car 300 miles home with a bad MAF, I would like to strongly recommend you move to a newer 3" and a translator. The old ones simply aren't very available, and the ones you can get are of questionable quality.

Take everyones word for it, the translator is a nice way to go. You can try and find a stock maf but you may have to go thru several exchanges to find one that even runs correctly and then you never know since they're reman units. BTDT I've been running the standard xlator for a couple years now with not one single regret or issue. Driveability has been better than a stock maf since day one.
