About to convert to the 86/87 ecm. What Maf are you guys using the GM piece or aftermarket?

I am using the GM/AC-delco OEM 86-87 TR MAF....good luck finding one..I got mine from someone else off the BB for around $125

OR

You can buy a Translator...this is a bit more expensive, but at the same time it offers timing, and Fuel adjustments...Also I dont think the MAF that they use on the Translator fails as easy as the stock GN/TR ones.

Don't you have to buy an LT1 MAF and the translator plus? Those are separate right? Anyway, anyone here know of a good website selling/describing the translator plus setup? I've heard good things about it, but I really don't know anything about it or how it works.

adjusting timing and fuel sounds cool though :)

thx

Dave

Call Conleys Performance in Texas for a rebuilt MAF to fit your conversion. Just tell them what you need, an 87 MAF to fit an 85 GN with an 87 ecm.

I'll explain it to you tonight at the meeting
Appreciate it. Thx, the translator sounds like a cool set-up. Certainly pricey enough. No website eh? Too bad.

I still don't get how the translator affects timing? There's no way falsifying the MAF values will affect timing.. is there? I vaguely remember reading that the translator plus connects to some ignition wire. Hmmm.
