There is a port on the pass side of the trans where a hose and pressure gauge can be attached. This would help diagnose if the pump is bad. Also if you have the tv adjusted properly.
I hate to have you spending needless money on stuff as I am far from an expert. Though I have broken more than one or two of the 2004r transmissions. I'm just eliminating stuff. The converter spins and could make a swishing sound. Or could be the pump. Pulling a pump isn't hard but there is a selective washer that has to be reinstalled on the back side of the stator support. I use trans gel to "stick it" on there for reinstallation . Pump could have damaged vanes or rings. The pressure relief spring can fail. Just lots of things can go wrong. I reassemble the pump and finger tighten the bolts then insert it in the case upside down to align the pump halves and torque the pump bolts. Pump could have a scored cavity or broken slide spring .

ok ill get a gauge and check pressure. I took down road again and it shifted like it was a turbo caddy. hope it keeps that up im not going to mess with tv cable again or drive it hard. how much pressure should pump produce? thank for your help by the way. I really appreciate everybodys help on this site. Ive not got tranny hot yet it may still be shifting hard after that. I have like 4 ripples facing fire wall on tv cable does that sound right?

Ive got myself confuse reading some of the threads about the tv cable. if I want the car to shift not so hard do I move cable closer to the radiator or toward the fire wall??

Might want to go easy on that TV adjustment - and really have a handle on the proper adjustment - or you're trans is going to visit Bethel, NC.
I've lost a trans (or two) to mal-adjusted TV cables.
If you read enough - you can adjust it yourself.
Me - I'd let a GN / trans "expert" have at it.
Of course - if you're like me - you start to learn as much as the so called experts - just by doing.
With proper gauges and a good feel for what is good.
I'd rather have it shifting hard(er) then soft(er) - soft gets you close to the point of flaring.
Flaring = bad.
Very bad.

I know you want to drive it.
But nothing worse than having to pull your trans just because.

No vacuum modulator on the TH200-R4
The TV cable tells the trans what the engine is doing.

You mentioned you unplugged the gear switch - connector; which tells the ECM which gear the trans is in.
I'll assume you plugged it back.

I'm sorry I can't help more on any actual advice for trans or TV cable settings.
That's one of the areas that scares the hell out of me.
I try to avoid even removing my cable bracket for said reason.

PM Lonnie if he is on the board and ask.

You mentioned it acts up when it gets hot - or when it is hot - i.e. summertime
I had one that did the same thing.
Just didn't feel right in the middle of summer.

Try installing a Trans Temp gauge from Jeggs or wherever - they're cheap - even if you temp it up.
That way - you can keep an eye on things for a while.
Use the SM to read coolant temps. Slightly irrelevant - but I wasn't sure if you were using the radiator trans cooler or an external cooler.

I almost forgot to tell this the swishing noise has stopped after tv cable is set .

Sounds like all it might have needed was one click adjustment.
Maybe when you swapped your motor; it got a wee bit out of adjustment, bracket position, cable stretch or orientation or whatever.

Glad it seems to be moving towards "working right".

Adjusting the t/v cable is simple guys! press the button on the t/v cable, push the t/v cable all the way in towards the firewall, take your drivers side floormat out, now push the accelerator pedal hard all the way to the floor a couple of times. your t/v cable is now set properly. MAKE SURE YOUR T/V CABLE IS NOT STRECHED IF IT IS REPLACE IT OR THE ADJUSMENT WILL NOT BE CORRECT. OPP'S THERE'S THE BELL, SCHOOLS OUT!
