I have removed the first gen. GN1 aluminum heads on my 109 block due too much welding, heil coil inserts, bubble gum fabrication patches to keep them going. :) I wIll have the current prodution GN1 aluminum heads early next week.

Q? The ARP head studs are still in block after removing the GN1 heads....is it necessary to remove the studs in order to clean them, chase the bolt holes, etc., prior to prepping the install of the new GN1's?

Thanks!

You need to remove them to properly clean the deck surface.
I concur!!

Do it right the first time! No cutting steps with this one; only to have me pulling the heads off sooner than I would intended too!

Thank you for putting me in the right direction.
