manual exhaust cut out

i've seen the electric exhaust cut outs, i'd like to get one for when i redo my exhaust, but i don't want to spend $150+ for one. and i don't want to have to get of the car and play with a hot cover either. i was thinking that it sould be possible to take the valve type thing the electric part has and just hook up a cable to it that runs inside the car, like under the seat or something. that way all you would have to do is reach down and twist an handel to open the valve.i don't know if somethign like this has been made or not but it should be fairly simple to make if you have the time and parts to do it.

thats what i'm lookign for, good price too, $22 BUT its only avaliable up to 2 1/4 inch, i'm wanting 3" but at least thats a start.
