I also have the one from boostvalve.com and it works great. You don't have to remove the hose to readjust the boost as you do with the RJC.

In Maine all we can get is 91, and the RJC is 16 psi min. That is right on the edge of detonation. I would rather have the valve running in the middle of it's range instead of at the very bottom. Also, the boostvalve.com valve has the HD spring with it. Nice unit.

The RJC is fine, and it really depends on what your actuator is set at. I had an external gate pipe for 4 years and when turned all the way down, it made 6psi. My RJC with a high boost actuator I just installed was making 17 all the way open. I bet with the lower boost actuator, it would be lower then 17. I cranked mine up to 25-26 now and works good.

:D

16 psi and your almost detonating i think you have tunning issues i run 18 with 91 with no knock

I have had some tanks of 91 that I can run about 17-18, but after getting a tank that would detonate at part throtttle, I have been playing it safe.

No doubt the car could use a tune better than I can give it, but all cars are different. Someday alky .......

I just don't understand why anyone would buy a boost controller for more money from a non Buick vendor:rolleyes:I agree these other boost valves have more bling IF that is your thing.I like to refer to them as cool guy parts:confused:BUT J ason has given us way more input than the turbo ricer crowd :p

I'll probably end up going with the RJC one...Not to change the subject but I have another question..I just bought this 3" ATR DP with an external wastegate..Do I need to change the spring in the wastegate to whatever I have the manuel boost controller set at?

I have an RJC controller on my car and it is a pain to adjust. Yes it is good to support a Vendor but the question was "What's the best one out there" I've seen these Hallmans on a few GN so far and when I pony up some money i'm going to buy me one of these cool guy parts. FYI the cable is a pain to mount inside the car on the Hallman EVO.

I just bought an RJC controller and have not yet had the chance to install. What makes it a pain to adjust? Just the fact that you have to get out of the car, open the hood, and turn the knob vs. adjustment from the driver seat?

I ran an RJC for years until I cut the spring and could not find a part number anywhere for it, so I just threw it in the corner and ran a Hallman routed to the inside of my car. Now I can adjust boost on the fly. Love it.
