I ran an RJC for years until I cut the spring and could not find a part number anywhere for it, so I just threw it in the corner and ran a Hallman routed to the inside of my car. Now I can adjust boost on the fly. Love it.
wouldnt you have to change your wastegate spring too?

I have the RJC but haven't installed it yet. Instructions say it allows the boost to come on faster. It eliminates the y hose from the boost solenoid. Do the other ones work like this?

I just installed the rjc. I disconnected the y hose and ran the rjc between the external wastegate and the compressor side of the turbo. I didn't notice any difference.

"I just bought an RJC controller and have not yet had the chance to install. What makes it a pain to adjust?"

You have to remove the vacuum hose to adjust it. That is a pain if you have it tie-wrapped to prevent blow off/leaks.

Did you adjust it? I got mine installed and was unsure which way increased boost or decreased boost. So I tried it all the way out & all the way in to see which was the extreme. I never even knew the factory boost gauge had red lights on it, let alone to have it happen at half-throttle!!! As far as that goes, it does what I was told it would do.

With respect to keeping the WG completely closed until 15psi comes up, I'm not sure. I'm only running about 16psi now. It might not be noticeable until you get into higher boost. It'll be a few months before I get there. I am happy with it for now.

So if you turned it in did that bring on boost earlier?

To be honest i couldn't tell any difference as far as spool up speed. The main reason i bought it was so i could turn up the boost. Ive always thought my turbo built boost very quickly even though it is stock for sure. Im not absolutely positive on the converter bu. The original owner says it is and i havent caught him in a lie yet.

The instructions just say it brings the boost on quicker, but doesn't actually increase the boost. Supposed to make the car "feel" quicker.

I will agree the instructions are vague. However, when on the phone with them about this product and the power plate, i specifically remember talking about adjustment of boost pressure. I seem to remember figures thrown out that this thing is adjustable for anywhere between 18psi up to about 26psi. The number can vary if your actuator rod is longer or shorter.

I was disappointed to see that the instructions didnt say which way to turn the knob to adjust boost. But after looking at the setup on the car and figuring out whats going on, i figured it out. Trust me, it DOES have the capability of increasing boost pressure. Try it at one extreme then the other and you'll see and you'll figure out what's going on in there, too. Just be careful not to overboost!!

The instructions do say how to increase/decrease boost, at least mine do. It's in the picture at the top of the page. Turn knob in to increase boost, out to decrease. About one turn = 1 pound boost.

Hmm. Could you PM me a copy of yours? Or email to droberts@pipeco.com. I'd just like to have it on file for my son / daughter. After all, this thing will belong to one of them one day and I'd like to be sure they know how things work.

I'm almost positive mine didn't say anything about how to increase or decrease, but I could be wrong. I am definitely not dogging the piece OR RJC. It's not that difficult to figure out anyhow.

I will try to scan it.

I could not get my scanner to work. Hopefully these pics will help.
