Saturday I called Mike (Nordy Racer) and asked if he wanted to volunteer to supervise the installation of my PSM (Performance Systems Manufacturing) AKA (Pete Tomka) cold air system. Mike asked what all did I have to install on the car and I told him that I also had a new ignition module, coil pack, & Russ Merritt spark plug wires that I would like to install, but I would be happy if I could get the cold air package installed, or the other stuff, as I figured that we would never have time to get it all. Mike told me to grab everything and head for his house. I threw everything in the trunk and headed to mike's house. Mike was working on his car, but when I arrived at his house, he dropped working on his car to help me on mine. I was not exactly the epitome of energy that day as I had just come down with the flu or a cold, and was barely alive. Mike ended up installing the ignition module, coil pack, and I helped on the spark plug wires. Mike called Kevin who came over and between the two of them, they pretty much installed the cold air package while I watched, being sick.
It's true turbo Buick people like this who make me glad to be a part of the turbo Buick community. I can't say enough good about Mike & Kevin, who did virtually all of the work on my car without complaining realizing that I was not feeling well and was just not with the program, or was too sick to help much that day. Neither would take any money in exchange for their services.
Over the years many people have helped me with my car with either parts, work, or advice and I wanted everybody to know that I really appreciate it.
So now the car has the cold air package, new ignition module, new coil pack, & new Russ Merritt spark plug wires installed, and the car starts a little easier, the BL's are now somewhat closer to where they should be, it runs a little smoother, and is definitely stronger.
I see a brand new John Craig Limit Eng.TA-60 turbo in the near future. Thanks again to everybody who has helped me over the years, but especially to Mike & Kevin. My car thanks you guys too. Can't wait now to buy more stuff.

Hummm..... that sounds familiar. Except I end up doing all the work!..... Buts its cool though cause the poeple I help inturn help me out in other ways....... wait, that didnt sound right:confused:

Gary,

i'm glad you came over and we could get that stuff installed for ya.. like i stated, i don't need the money in return, my happyness is helping out a fellow buick owner :).. call me anytime Gary..

Gary,

I now how you feel with that flu of yours. I came down with it hard, running a temp of almost 103.

I am glad you got all of that stuff installed on your car. Let me know when you want to do your Alky so i can get you my old pipe with the hole already drilled into it.

This flu is kicking my butt bad. I wouldn't even wish this stuff on my worst enemy. Alky or a TA60 is next on my list, I am sort of holding back on the ta60 as I have heard conflicting stories of whether I will need to do a convertor or not to avoid the car feeling sluggish on the street. So I think that alky might be next for the yellow brick road to la la land.

Gary 15 lbs with a 49 is going to feel the same as 15 with a T60... do alky and be done with it.

Ya your gonna need more of a convertor for that ta-60. My 3000 l/u was great when I had that turbo (the one day i had it). The alky will be good for you. You can run more boost off that 49 you have.

Ok, that saved me some money, and I was becoming rather fond of the ta49 anyhow. Guess that next on the list will be alky. Seems to me I've already got that hidden away from last year. Ok, so alky it is. I just topped off the tank with 100 octane, too. Oh, well.

Whenever you are ready & have yours running, Mike. I already have the Razor alky kit brand new in the box & I also have a TT alky chip. I even have some zip ties we can use. I might even be able to do something this time. Damn flu almost killed me. A tech day would work for me, too, and I would appreciate any help that I can get. I have heard that Eric's chips are spot on. I definitely will take you up on this offer.

I just put the alky kit on the GN this weekend and MAN....... did it go on smooth! Everything was easy. All I could say is dont use the solderless connectors in the kit (if you could avoid it) I soldered all my connections to ensure good solid connections. Also most of the kit is "hiden" as much as possible. Had to extend some wires and re-route others but overall I was happy with the install. Also just picked up a few gallons of meth and hopefully Ill be at the track this weekend dialing her in.......untill the trany gives!:(

Vic:
Hopefully, your tranny will hold for a while, I will be interested in seeing what you run. Good luck at the track.

Just be careful. When my trans started to let go, I just kept adjusting the TV cable, which is a bandaid over the probelm. I was slipping gears really bad, third started to go, then when I was passing a slow car getting on the freeway the car would not shift out of first. It was a very slow ride home. I was lucky cause I was right down the street from the house.

When you are ready see Len Freeman, that guy is hands down the best guy for the job. Many people run his 200's and TH400's and are very happy with them. I had a problem with my trans, and he took it back and made sure everything was good to go.
