MAP leak???

do all stock TR's have MAP sensors. i know what they look like and i thik i see it on the pasenger side engine bay wall above the wheel along with those other few sensors. the connector hose on it looks dry rotted. if it was could it be getting inaccurate readings causing the car to mess up at idle and /or WOT and/or anywhere in between? specifically, what kind of problems would this cause?

I think it is used for the factory boost gauge (useless disco light show). Ive been meaning to disc mine and verify this.

MAP sensor is used only on analog dash cars and has no connection to the ECM. Only the boost gauge.

Digital dash cars used a pressure switch for the even more useless "Turbo Power" lights.
