So I've got a Devils Own progressive kit and a 3bar map that I am installing. I've read a few schools of thought on the map

1) REPLACE the stock MAP on the passenger inner fender with it and then tap the controller into the green stock MAP wire under the dash

2) run that same stock MAP line to the 3bar map (leaving the stock in place) and then to the controller.

Any thoughts?

Call Devil's Own.

They charged you money when they sold you a system and should give you the support. It would be wrong to step on their toes. If they cant/wont help post back and i'll help.

Their diagram shows wiring it, but I looked at what the MAP actually does (learning here! be gentel...lol..) and figured it would be fine to just replace the stock 2bar and then run the controller wire to the green there.

Thanks though

if you replace the stock sensor the indash boost gauge will be off (if it even read correctly)
if the stock gauge was accurate it will now light the first led at ~6psi and will read full at approx ~30psi

if your boost gauge in the dash works and you want it to stay that way then leave the stock as is and add the 3bar as a seperate sensor , get a map connnector and splice into the stock map sensor wires for power and ground and then run a seperate map signal wire to whatever you need be it alky or powerlogger ..dont forget to feed (or tee) the vac/boost line to the 3bar

personally i would run the 3bar off a different power source than the stock indash tach/ boost gauge which provides power for the stock map wire , but rather from the ecm tps +5v

If you don't care about the numbers being off, you can use the 3bar controller with a 2bar map sensor. The controller face can also be replaced with a 2bar. Is there a reason you didn't go with the DVC-30 or DVC-100? Last, the 1st generation DO controllers have built in 5V power for using a separate map sensor. They are cheap used. Just throwing out ideas.
