Melling vs Speed Pro ?

Trying to order an oil pump. pick up and wear plate. Is there any difference or is one better than the other???

The pick-ups are different, pick your poison.

Mellings has a finer screen, but under the support bar is a open hole to bypass if screen plugs up.

Speed pro has a solid larger opening screen with no bypass.

When ordering the oil pump set of either company check the gears over before you leave the store. The gears don't have alot of packing in the box and they are hitting each other and tend to have nicks etc on them. It took a few sets to find decent ones last i ordered form Auto Zone. Id go with melling.

Does anyone have pics of these. It seems there have been some changes over the years. I called my local dealer and the oe pick up is no longer available.

Just bought one from auto zone....fits fine.
