Mercon/Dexron III vs. Type F ATF

I was reading on gnttype.org that they recommed that you use Type F ATF, saying that it will actually cause the transmission to shift firmer. so i figured i will ask the experts here.

what do you recommend, Mercon/Dexron III or Type F?

I personally don't know the answer, and I've heard advice both ways. I've heard people support it, but I've also heard other G-boyd owners, with a good amount of experience I might add, advise against it. Still looking for the answer myself.

I tried the type f after I put in my valve body kit in and the convertor clutch started slipping/chattering under load. Went back to dextron and no more chatter. I could not tell any difference in shift either.
