At the local show on fri night i met the guy that states he has the fastest national in the country, twin turbo duttwieler motor runs 7.22 or around there at 188 mph, it is like a flame color and i think the trailer matches the car if iam not mistaken. anybody ever heard or met him , i think he says he goes by " rodney" but when i said nice meeting you he said Al , he says he was kicked out of a meet because he came off the trailer and ran a 7.80. nice guy kind of fat- no pun intended he was with his daughter. i metioned every name in the book that are big names within this community and he didn't know of any of them. like Cal, Red, and Ron. anybody know of this guy?

next week he says he is going to bring down his street national with 650 hp at the flywheel cant wait to see it. he lives here in BK.

That would be "Big Al" - brought his car to Bowling Green like 5 years ago. First pass (that I saw) the steering wheel came off at launch and he put it into the wall.:(

Yes, his flamed car runs big numbers.

Alvin Isokowitz just got his motor back from Duttweiler's a month or so ago. I am sure that his does not know about some of the "big names" that you are talking about beacuse he uses Duttweiler's and Turbo People for most of his Car's needs. Kenny said the car is going to be fast. I was not sure that the car ran in the 7.2s. I will have to cal him and find out. This guy has been around for a long time!

Real arrogant, I mean obnoxious, I mean nice guy, we had the pleasure of pitting next to him in Bristol.... It's fast but not that fast. I think 7.6? but I may be incorrect.

Not sure what attitude I might develop with either of your cars. heheh. :)

7.5 in the posted link, but its hard to read.

I never saw the car make a clean pass.He was very rude to me and others at BRISTOL and took up 12 pit spots .He told us to move after we had our cars off the Trailers and said he had other race cars coming down from NY.All week their were street car buddies of his parked in the race car spots ! HE CAN LICK MY LUMPS

He used to attend Buick VS Mustang at E-Town as well as Atco....Last time I saw the car was around 2 years ago. Nice looking car....usually sporting his large gold glasses if I remember him correctly.

HAHa yeah the tude that i got from him was a lil like you guys are saying, i was telling him about my car even though he didn't look at it even though it was parked about 25 feet from us,i was saying what i have in it and he was like nobody can make good runs. he goes go down to e-town you will see guys running no better then 12's i just kept my mouth shut since i didn't want to get into with this guy. plus his daughter was right next to him. but yeah he was telling me about when he crashed his car. and that he did just get motor back from kenny.

He told us to move in Bristol too...that didnt sit too well with my guys and it looked like things were gonna get a bit ugly, needless to say, we didnt move and it was a pi$$ing contest all weekend for territory!

i was wondering what ever happen to ROY RAUCH, anyone know if he still make the GN vs. STANGS videos ?

I saw him at E-town a year or two ago, never got a chance to catch him in the pits. I have yet to see him make a clean pass. usually he pulled up to the line, make all sorts of popping and banging rolled about 50 feet and shut it down.

:)

The motor was at Ken's at least once because the car had been making passes with no MAP sensor connected...data logs showed an entire pass with the boost at atmospheric and the wideband correction pegged. :p

OK, I feel mean spirited for hopping on the bash-wagon, I'm gonna go kick a puppy now. ;)

from what i heard--big al was going to be at bg. but had trans problems. i was looking forward to seeing his car run. maybe next year!

How about Lawrence and Janice Conleys monster GN

"TWEAKED" Our 1983 Single Turbo Buick Regal [7.75 @ 178.96]

Pretty close, then again, going that fast, a hundreth of a second is still quite a bit faster.

The Conelys are great people. I have worked with them before when I had my first hot air car. I had an unbalanced turbo from a crappy place in Minnesota and told them about it. They MADE me a turbo for the price of a replacement. It was larger and had better coolant lines. It definately made more power as I spun a bearing the day after it was installed.

I've seen him run his car @ e-town and atco in 2002. I don't recall exact times, but 7.20' or 7.30's sound about right. He was #1 qualifier in the E-town shootout. Truly amazing car. As for Roy Rauch, I haven't seen him in years, used to see him cruising in his TT vette and once in a while his GN.
