I could have done without all the butt-kissing (but I guess that is what the show was for) and I really could have done without Snoop. Ugh...that was bad.

Otherwise, I thought it was pretty good! The bands covering the songs did pretty good for the most part. Avril was awesome FWIW.

Yeah, I agree. I thought Limp Bizkit sounded pretty good also. Looks like Hetfield has had a tough time over the past couple of years. Seems to be straightrened out now though.

I thought that Limp Bizkit and Korn were pretty good.
Snoop was really bad and it looked like they ended his
song early. I wonder if he is really a fan or if MTV is trying
to promote it's left wing pc attitude on others again.
The new Metallica song sounded great as well.
I wish that the new bass player recorded on the new album.
I wonder how much of a different sound he would have given it?
All in all it was a good show. I watched most of it twice.

I would suggest that Snoop barely knows who Metallica is! Absolutely MTV was promoting Snoop for whatever reason.

I also dig the new bass player. Played his a$$ off on the show. Looks like he will fit in well.

He was in a band several years ago called Infectious Grooves and he did some of the coolest stuff with a bass I've ever heard in my life. If you get bored, check 'em out.

Ahh...a man who knows what he is talking about. try to find a song they called "Don't Stop, Spread the Jam". Yes, a hokey name, but a kind of cool whimsical song with some INCREDIBLE bass playing.

Wasn't Robert also in Suicidal Tendencies?

Before that he was in Suicidal tendencies.
They have some great songs.

But mom, all I really wanted was a pepsi!

i haven't seen it yet(i was in the studio recording with my band:))but i absolutely refuse to believe that avril levawhateverhernameis did a metallica song any justice.

that girl's a little teeny-bopper poser hack trying to cash in on the "skater" image.last time i checked most skaters listen to punk and thrash.at least they did when i was sponsored in the late 80's.

and yes, robert trujillo is the original bass player from suicidal and infections grooves.mike muir sang in both bands too, btw.

he has also recorded with jerry cantrell, black label society and ozzy.

the only question in my mind is if metallica can keep up with him:eek:  .and one thing's for sure,he won't be their little whipping boy bitch like jason newsted was.robert trujillo's got chunks of guys like lars ulrich in his sh!t:D.

Yeah...I can see why you would think that, but seriously...for HER it wasn't bad. I don't know what she sounds like othewise. Her band played great and sounded great.

I thought so. I saw ST back in 1991 with Queensryche. Ahh...memories... :)

Figues everyone would diss the D O double G. From what i heard, snoop was the best part. i think metallica is garbage anyway.

:o Snoop dogg the best part? Obviosly you did not watch the show,He sucked!! Being a big METTALICA fan i was not much impressed by any of the performers, but METALLICA themselves. That set as short as it was, was great and they played there a@@es off.Too bad Mtv cut the set short i was pshyched to see them play. Cant wait till july ill be there a giant stadium!
Otto

Snoop is a good performer, but his performance that night sucked.
He was not the snizil my nizil.

20 years, 1 song, over and over. Oh, and dozens of other bands mimicing them, making the same, 1 song, over and over.

Rest easy, Jimi.

:D

And 88CutlASS - you have no taste and should be banned for your comments. :D

I missed the beginning twice!! I caught it at Korn both times...and both times I wanted to reach in the tube and b!tch slap that Limpy Bread singer:mad: ugh, rap rock is lower than rap itself...
Although i really liked the way Korn sounded...but METALLICA ruled that show, I don't need to see the beginning to know that..:D

Cj:)

Speaking of Robert Trujillo

I remember seeing him when Ozzy played Honolulu back in '97, barefoot on stage with those long braids, this guy was relentless start to stop!

I'm not a big Metallica fan, but I did watch the end of the show and thought they were pretty good.
