Wanting a little more power out of the Buick without spending TOO much money. Here's my setup.

87 GN, 109 block, je forged pistons, girlded, arp studs throughout, ported heads, 009 inj, 3" THDP, hooker exhaust, LS1 3.5" MAF and Translator, Art Carr tranny and AC non-lu 3000 converter, TE44@16psi, TT chip.

I was wondering what your opinions are, running a Snow methanol kit with a new alky chip with more timing and 22-24psi on 93octane.....or going with a slightly bigger turbo TE62 maybe @16psi? I'm thinking I might see bigger gains with the methanol.

Thoughts?

You'll see bigger gains just turning the boost up- 16psi is about the stock setting. Do you have a scantool? Get one- then tune the car for max power on pump gas without knock- then throw the alky at it.

Don't know much about Snow's kit; do know PAC, and using it WILL put a big grin on your face!

Yes I installed a Scanmaster, autometer boost gauge, and casper's knock gauge a few months ago. With the translator I believe 8% richer at WOT i'm now getting around 1-2 degrees of knock on the big end, mostly between shifts. I was told by a few Buick guys not to go much past 16psi on 93 pump gas so that's where I was going to leave it.
