They quoted me $63,688.52 ($13K off of MSRP), $5,258.83 state sales tax for L.A. County, (which is about 2% less than it will be when the elections happen), + $552.75 for license, which totals out to about $69, 500. they sais that they might knock off an additional $250.00 or there abouts. I'm still thinking.
Also, buying low miles from a private party with a favorable receipt is quickly becoming a thing of the past in the corvette world, just as it did in Mercedes, BMW, & Lexus land. Think I'm kidding. I'm not, go look at all of the greater U.S. dealers specializing in Vettes, especially in new car Z06 sales and, presto, viola, all of a sudden dealers that would never touch a used Z06 unless they are making a killing are now reselling used Z06. MacMulkin and others are now advertising used Z06's. Too many to be just new car trade-ins. Not only does the fact or thought that I am seeing a new trend here is the fact or thought that I see this going the same way as Mercedes, BMW, Lexus. Rarely do you see one of these from a private party anymore. I was looking at Merc S55's a while back, and all that I saw were at dealers, virtually none were being sold by private parties. Same for upper end BMW's, same for upper end Lexuses. See something here that you don't like. I do. My guess is that the killer deals being currently offered on '08 Z06's and a few East coast '09 Z06's may never be repeated again.
This current trend of auto manufacturer's in general having to deeply discount vehicle MSRP's values is driven primarily by 1 factor, and a couple of underlying factors. 1) Greed (the belief that any auto manufacturer can sell everything that they make in any 1 given year) , & 2) underlying this is a sagging economy driving higher prices, especially fuel prices, and more and more people being driven out of work. Buy a Z06 soon, step up & buy a ZR1, or continue sucking on Lambo's
