What parts do i need to run mid 12's on a stock grand national

Race gas and boost!

You can go mid 12s on all stock parts as long as you turn the boost up to 21lbs, get a good chip, and throw in some race gas. Before doing this you need to upgrade the fuel pump and hotwire the fuel pump. You also need a scanmaster, turbolink, or direct scan to monitor the car. Without a scan tool you might as well close your eyes when you launch cuz you'll be flying blind.

Before going nuts read a lot of posts on here and read www.gnttype.org. After that read gnttype again and then once you read it a 3rd time you'll be ready to start modifying the car.

You got good answer. Go to the web site. Make sure you have a scanner
I use Turbo link. But the choice is yours. Don't forget a feul pump...12's

SPRING CLEANING! Gotta make sure EVERYTHING is running right first and foremost!

When i rebuilt the motor i installed a mild cam since then ive installed a 3" downpipe. So all i really need is race gas and a scanmaster. what does the scanmaster do. Does cranking the boost to 21 psi damage the engine?

alky and a egt gauge

if you still have a stock turbo and intercooler get an alky kit and an egt gauge...plus the stuff that has already be suggested....a scanmaster is a great tuning tool....i wish i would have bought an alky kit sooner...it is the best performance item i ever purchased for my tr...........................Bob

I answered in the parts for sale section, thought i would copy and paste.

26x9 or 26x10 Hoosier drag slicks I recommend these because they do not require rim screws to seat.
I would mount them on a set of 15x8 wheels

15gallons of 110 octane fuel , drain the old fuel, run a few gallons thru it and run it low,not out of gas, just low, race on 13 gallons.

Gut the cat-convertor and install a dump pipe or test pipe

Walboro 340 fuel pump
Hotwire kit for the fuel pump
New fuel filter
New 02 sensor
NGK UR5 spark plugs gapped at .032

Good set of wires, MSD black preferred loom them so the wires dont touch any metal objects

A good racechip, see my sig for custom chip burned, Eric does excellent work.
Many options for chips, just need one with higher timing.

RJC bleeder, this will allow you to increase your boost to around 21psi.
Lock the stock convertor on your aldl port right under the radio on the drivers side, upper left port to upper right port, that is worth .2 and gain 2mph in the 1/4

I would get a 160° thermostat and add a bigger transmission cooler to save the life of the tranny.

30Hg -0- 30psi boost gauge

Launch between 5 and 12psi see how the car hooks

New brakes to slow you down
