You can do a quick check of the coil with an ohm meter. You should see 11 to 13 ohms across the coil packs (front terminal to back.) You are right on the fuel side of the equation. First, a fuel pressure gauge would tell you if your fueling system is providing enough volume. Fuel pressure should be 34 to 40 psi, vacuum off, at idle. It should rise approx 1 psi for every psi of boost. Given the mileage on your car and the years, I would suspect the fuel system as well. Mine had 60,000 on it and the pump was junk. Good luck.
