More boost with adjustable wastegate actuator

I have a adjustable actuator and I was wondering if all I need to do is make the rod shorter to increase boost or do I also have to disconnect the vacuum line going to it? If so do I just plug to open vacuum line?

Just shorten the rod. Careful to do it a one turn at a time.
