Well everyone, Like in a previous thread, I narrowed it down to my orange ECM wire and/or plug.

Well I got the plug from Caspers, installed it and well....nothing. It must be somewhere down the line. I know the problem is close to the plug since the smallest tap to the plug/around the plug the car will not let the fuel pump prime.

My question is, is the orange ECM wire any kind of special wire? I know there's the in-line fuse, but I can't get it opened or anything. Why is there the inline fuse? What is the use for it?

Could I run the car without the inline fuse? If the wire is after the inline fuse, then how can i fix it? Can I go down to the local hardware store and get the wire and then crimp it togeather and work?

I know it's my damn ECM wire, but I dont have the knowledge like everyone else.

Please help!

If you turn the key on, the ses light doesnt come on, then more than likely the orange wire where it meets the battery connection has corroded, not allowing power to the ECM to come on, then the ses light wont work.

What is the actual issue with the car?

No start no SES (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) Just jump the orange to positive and see if it cures the issue, if not, then could be where the wire meets the ECM.

Well Bryan, I took my brother out there and showed him what I was talking about. And he said 'well shoot, just take the wire straight to the battery.'' So we did that and it works fine. But I found out the wire coming from the pos. battery side had a weak current. So we just took the wire from the ECM and spliced it a little bit and put it to the battery and tighten it down.

It's a band-aid for now, but I'll get it fixed soon.

But it works fine now, but I just can't reset the ecm with the plug now.

Bryan, what was happening was the car was acting the ecm wasnt connected. It was just a short in the wire.

Inside the red connector where the 8mm wrench goes(batt connector), there is corrosion, that is where you are not getting the connection.

Replace the battery cable, because inside that red jubalee is a real pretty girl that is in her first tri-mester...(battery cable swelling)
Before you know it, its gonna be trouble
Dont let me tell you i told you so.

Just depends on where you are splicing the wire.
Got pics?

Sorry, my battery recharger for my dig camera is missing. So no pics, only a pic from before i did my CAS V4 intercooler swap. But once I find my charger, I'll post pics of the car and all that. Sorry. I should have put pics when I first got my car, but didnt :D

Don't worry, i will soon have pics.

make sure you add a fuse AT THE BATTERY for that wire you ran. even though its temporary it will keep the wire protected in the event it gets pinched or shorted to ground somehow. w/o it the wire will just burn possibly causing other flammable things to ignite.
Or you could just run it to the fuse box and use one of the available open slots for IGN power, I would still add the fuse at the box as well.

I always wondered why there was the inline fuse on the wire.

Why is there one?

Is it cause if theres a short or whatever it wont ignite? (like said in the above post)

the fuseable link is like the ones found on the starter, but on a smaller scale.very important to relace/keep,not only protects the battery power lead, but also protects computer from shorts comming from other componets on the engine.keep it there.

sounds like you have a problem at battery or down the orange wire somewhere.with what you said above, maybe bad connection on fuse link?

get a meter and a large sewing needle, ground negative lead of meter to the negative battery terminal/post,and tie needle to positive lead with an alligator clip(this will pierce the insullation on wire with minimal damage)start at battery and check every inch/plug/fuse link, and see where voltage drops.
