i went to the bop nationals in bristol and there was nothing but dissapointment. my cars been running "ok" for the last week but not as good as it has been and as soon as i got down there on the first run the tranny slipped and i had to back off and get on it again and THEN the popping started happining:mad: it was so bad it turned my "11" second car in to a solid mid 14 second performer:rolleyes:

thanks to the radious kid, who had never even talked to me in his life spent most of friday trying to figure out what was wrong and jim rock who loaned me some testing equipment, coil pack, and alternator i traced it down to being a lazy alternator, bad plug wires, and bad ignition module although when i got every thing running right the staging lanes closed down before i could get a run in. btw, i raced jim once while i was testing, he sucked my doors off.

does any one know if a alternator out of a 85 cutlass will work as long as i swap the pulley because ive got a new one setting on my shelf. also the radious kid sudgested that i invest in a part by caspers he called the "ignition enhanser" or something like that he could not remember the name of the peace, any ideas? and one last thing :D does any one know where i can get a ignition module.

it sucked, wasent enough people or venders, ya know the only k@n i could find there was a 20 buck pos that was banged up and cruddy;) gotta put a new k&n and maf pipe on my to do list

that part that radious kid was telling me about pluged up to the wastegate silenoid, would that be the volt booster? or would he be talking about something else like the FieldFix Alternator Harness Add-In

Apparently all of those previous 11 second passes burned up the tranny, alternator, plug wires and ignition module.

Racin' aint cheap.

well, theres a funny story behind most of the parts and my car. we got togeather in our little group and one of the guys that i had never met before reconized my car. it was his old car from about 2-3 owners back several years ago. he even told me what kind of alarm it had and some odd stuff like where the amp and speaker mounting bolt holes were in the trunk. btw hes got all of the origional paperwork for my car that ill be getting in a few days:D

getting back to the parts, he built that tranny in 96 if i can remember correctley, it had a shift kit like i gussed but it also has some high buck billet parts that he put in to, ill get a list later i just cant remember them all right now. he also reconized the plug wires  so there the first thing to go besides the alternator. i have no doubt that the cars had a rough life and im reaping it all right now.
