More Questions regarding body bushings:
All questions apply to a 16K mile '87 turbo-t which I am setting up for spirited street (straightline) and handling (freeway on ramp & off ramp, moderate to sharp cornering), with the emphasis on handling and I have the following questions:
I have seen some people quoting prices in the $ 150-160 range for body bushings, does this include both the upper and lower body bushings. Kirbans has a complete set of 24? factory upper and lower body bushings, including the GNX bushings, for about $ 250. Would I be better off going polyurethane? The other planned suspension parts will include Bilsteins on all 4 corners, Kirban's or Global West's front and rear springs, bigger front or rear sway, or both, Kirban's or Kenne-Belle rear seat brace, good upper and lower rear control arms, probably Global West, and maybe tube style front upper? or lower? control arms, with good del-alum bushings throughout the system. Any comments, pro or con, or suggestions for parts, name brands, or places to buy are welcome and appreciated. Most stuff will come from Kirban's and global west, so far as planned. I am planning on having this done by Tim Lee at Donlee Auto in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca.

Auto-Cross or Pro-Touring Suspension

I am building a corner carving - street racer T-type. Not that I am going to street race it! I purchased a Prothane body mount kit from www.Spoh.net , it comes complete with all the body bushings , uppers and lowers, for 109.oo. I also got their front lower control arms for Coil-Overs made with chrome moly tubing and heim link ball ends, so it is adjustable, and powder coated red, Their control arms are exellent quality. Mine were 595.00 and I would recommend them to anyone wanting top shelf quality lower arms. And for shocks , I using QA1 double adj. coil-overs, those were 639.00, from Spohn also, . The upper arms are Pole Position Pro-Lites, 495.00 from SCandC. I am using Beltechs 2" lowering spindles ,Baer 14" disc, Wilwood 6-piston Superlite calipers, a 9" wide rim with a BFG-KD 265/40/18 tire. I will experment with different sway bars to find one that works good. JEFF

I was unable to find any info on the prothane body mount kit for G-bodies on their on-line catalogue. Where did you find it at?

When I called about the control arms , I asked about them and the QA1 shocks and the body mounts and the said they carried them. so I ordered them with the control arms, they can make the a-arms in mild steel or chrome moly, with eurathane or del-a-lum , or ball ends. I guest they don"t list everything the carry on-line! JEFF

Thanks, Jeff:
That's quite a set-up that you are doing.
Any pictures of the assembly, yet?
I would sure like to see some of that stuff on the turbo-t.
That's going to be a killer set-up.
That sounds good for my '02 Z06.
Please keep me posted on the progress.

I went with the Energy Suspension body bushings for both my GN and my '94 Cadillac Fleetwood. The FW rides great, though, I changed too many things at once to be able to tell you the difference in NVH on the Buick.
Either way, my Buick no longer rides like a Buick. Though, it MIGHT have something to do with the 639lb/in springs I have up front. :-P
