Please bear with me guys..I am new to the boost game.(I am an NA LS1 convert).

Couple of questions. First, I pulled the valve covers to adjust the rockers when I noticed there was water in the bottom valve cover bolt hole. Is this normal, or should I be wary of this. I noticed that the bolts had sealer on them, so i am assumiong that this may be common.

Second. I was looking around the top of the motor and noticed a brass t fitting that had vacuum lines running from it. Is this a boost controller? If so, do I adjust the boost level with this or the waste gate rod? Also, this was kinda sitting on the fuel rail. I have noticed some wierd kr levels on the Scan master and was wondering if this could some how be causing false knock. As of now I dont have a clue where the knock sensor is on these thing( I know that they sit on top of the valley cover on the LS1).

Third. I am going to take this car to the track Sat night. I have a race chip that is set up for 25-27 psi on 112 r/g. Am I risking detonation problems by running 110 on this chip. I have Alky Injection. Do I leave it on with the race gas, or is this a no no.

All help is greatly appreciated.

if the lines go to the wastegate actuator, yes. I've heard mixed on this, some say you adjust the wastegate rod and then the boost controller to right up below what the rod is set at... depends on what kind of boost controller it is i guess... my turbo minivan just runs a grainger valve with the stock setting on the wastegate actuator... i can adjust the boost with the grainger valve fine and spoolup is FAST...

Top of the intake valley on the back of the motor down behind the coil pack

only one way to find out for sure :D

just be ready to back off at the first signs of knock
