Im 6'1 and I feel that I sit to close to the dash. Im looking to move my front seat back a little. Has anyone moved there front seat back? Maybe 2" to 3"s? I have a manual front seat. I really don't want to drill hole through the floor board.

Thanks

make some adapters that extend the mounting holes back a few inches. a simple piece of steel with a hole in one end that bolts to the stock stud in the floor with a stud welded into a hole on the other end.. might be stronger if you make them out of a single piece of steel on the inner mounting points and another piece for the outer mounting points.

you must be one of those people that likes to sit far back away from the wheel- i'm 5'11" tall and i don't have the seat all the way back and have plenty of room from the wheel.. i do, however, get annoyed at how close my head is to the sagging headliner...

Im about 6 2 and was planning on making some brackets too. I know exactly what you mean.

I just want to be comfortable. If, I make some brackets it might raise the seat up some and i don't want to do that. I might have to cut off the stock ones and weld on some new ones. I know what you mean about being close to the healiner. Mine doesn't sage and im still close to it. Im even thinking about taking my front seat to the upholstery shop and having them pull some padding out to see if helps.

The Corbeau seat slider adapter brackets for their seats in the GN/T slide back really far. So far in that me (6' 0") cannot even touch the pedals when it is all the way back. I don't know if their brackets could be made to fit the stock seats or not.

I will check into the bracket. I might be able to modify it to make it work.

Thanks for the info.

I'm 6'3 and comfortable. I'm going down to the garage to see if mine has been done allready. I never though of this. Be Back!

I'm 6'4" and I was also sick of having my knees crushed on the dash. I made some brackets out of 0.250" plate. They pushed my seat back about 3-4 inches. I have leg room to spare now. I love it. I have them on top of the rug right now, so you can see the front ones, but when I put in the new carpet this winter I will hide them. I'll try to post up some pictures.

HEY DAVE.. I KNOW A GUY THAT ALSO MADE BRACKETS FOR HIS POWER SEAT! THE SEAT FIT YOU VERY WELL!

I'm 6' 2", and mine goes back far enough as I am short legged, but I am long waisted, so my problem is that I have to recline the seat back further than I would like to get my head to clear the roof. Mine is a hardtop car with a power seat. I would love to be able to get the seat to go lower to the floor so I could set the seat in a less reclined position. Any suggestions? It should not be hard to make a bracket to get the seat to go further back, though.

I think pushing the seat back some will help so, you don't have to recline it so much. Im not positive though. I have to recline mine more than i like also.

Im thinking that cutting the feet off and welding new short ones on might work. If you do this you could also move the seat back. Kill two birds with one stone.

would like to see some pictures of your brackets. I'm 6'3", long-legged and cramped up in the seat - would like it to go back a couple inches.

hello tall people; I'm short so no problem here but I have a tall friend who had a TB with a moonroof and with it his headroom was a problem. Short, tall that's how it goes. But have you seen the TV add for a car company with Shackhel O'neil? He's sitting there saying it's great but he probably just don't fit in anything. Now he needs some X-tra leg room.

Im going to work with a custom fabricator here in town. Im going to lower it some and move it back I will post pics when complete.

I'm 6'6" and never felt too close.....then again I do have a Limited with Bench seats that have about 3 inches of plushy give :P

I am short and use a booster seat. :D
Seriously . . . . Don't drive enough anymore to have an issue.
There are lots of benefits to move the seat back though . . . like when you have to work under the dash.

Chris, you have manual or electric seats?

I used to have a limited with a bench seat. Never had to make any adjustments to it. GN seat is different. I have manual seats right now.
