MT Street Radials on GTA (16") Wheels

What is the optimum size of MT street radials for 16" GTA wheels w/o wheel lip or frame mods? I think the two choices are 255 and 295.

MT 255/50/16 or M&H 275/55/16

with the MT 255/50-16 on a gta front rim mounted on the rear you may find youll need a thin (1/4") spacer to prevent frame rub

also be aware the 255/50 is a little shorter than the 26.1" stock tire at just over 25 3/4"... but it has a very wide footprint

I am running a 1/4" spacer on the ET Street radial 255/50/16. I was getting some rubbing on the frame.
