I don't think you have anything to worry about. I work at a Honda dealership and have driven a few S2000s personally. They do handle really well, and feel solid when driving, but their straight line power is a different story. I'm not impressed at all... they pull decently in high RPMs, but they have no torque. One of the mechanics has a supercharged S2000, and he said he's running 13.5s. If you can drive the Mustang at all, you should be able to hand him his a$$ pretty easily. Good luck.

thats what i hope will happen its on thursday he would not race today:mad: i guess his scared of the mustang waite till i bring the buick he'll **** his pants

In order to get decent times out of an S2000 you have to drive it like you hate it. So unless he has some experience, he probably isn't going to be an aggressive racer.

The Mustang will be a little less forgiving if you race it "mildly".

My money is on the Mustang.

I'm only 16 and i'm in 11th grade the buick is still my dads car but he only bought it because he made a bet with me that i would keep above a 3.0 gpa and i did so he bought one. In a couple of years i'm going to buy the Buick off of him. Right now i barely ever drive it becasue he will not let me:mad:  I like my mustang but the GN is whole nother story we walked on my mustagn at half throttle like i was standing still and that was all my car had. i hope that what i do to this s2000. i'll let you guys know when i race him.

Damn, where do you guys go to high school?! New Stang GT vs. an S2000?!?! My high school street races were my '87 Buick Skyhawk with a bad cylinder vs. my friend's rusted out Chevette :p Those were some barn-burners! :D

Anyway, in a straight, you should get him pretty well if he is in fact stock. He's got a whopping 155 ft-lbs at a low low 7500 rpms, hahaha. You should get him pretty solid off the line, then hold on and don't miss a shift and you'll walk him. Good luck!

he well not shut up saying he will beat me to bad the GN on jacks in my garage because we just put new motor mounts;) The s2000 is not his car its his moms but he drives once in a while thats why i'm waiting for him to bring it again. But the mustang is all mine i just have to buy the Buick off my dad now

I love that! I'm so glad I'm a dad, we get to have all the fun. Maybe I'll try that one too.
"Son, if you do well finger painting in Pre-school next year, I'll buy myself a GN. If you don't do it well, then your mother has to buy me one."
Damn, I like this idea!

:D :D :D :D ;) :p

HOLY $#!@ Your 16 with a $26k mustang GT?!?!? You live in Beverly Hills or something? I was barely able to afford my GN last year when I turned 17. Here's my advice. Give your dad the GT and take the GN. ;) You'll have NO competition at your school with that (I don't)...unless one of your other friends drives a Lamborguini.

I thought the S2000 ran 14's? Isn't that about as fast as the GT? My money is on you though.:)

See if he'll run for money. Next time he starts his BS, challenge him to race for money. If he says something like, "I don't want to take your money", then tell him, "I figured you'd come up with that as an excuse. So if you're not going to race for money, then shut the funk up. Put your money where your mouth is."

If he does accept the your challenge for money, then you need to determine a time and a place, the amount you're going to race for, the conditions of the race (lenght, from a stop or from a roll, etc), and get a 3rd neutral person to hold the money in advance. If he doesn't agree to any of this, then tell him stop bothering you with his childish tauntings until he's ready to grow up and get serious.

The bottom line is he either puts the money up in advance or shuts the hell up. In no way do you race him unless you see the cash.

to bad the GN on jacks in my garage because we just put new motor mounts;)

If the GN is not modified in any way, then you'll have just as much chance or beating him with the Mustang. The '99+ GTs run pretty even with my stock GN at 14psi of boost, which is in the low 14 to high 13 second range.

I hope you're a member at the Corral. They'll show you how to make that Mustang a little bit quicker.

EDIT:

pt51 turbo, THDP, MSD 50# , 2800 stall converter, adulstable chip, 340 walbro pump, adj. fuel pressure regulator, hot wire kit hopefull low elvens haven't run it yet with this combo

 I see the GN is not stock. Racing him in that GN would be about as much fun as beating up a child.

Friend's S2000 with a ramair kit and nitto drag radials ran 13.7@99 launching at 7k rpms, this car is getting wholloped everyday..If both of you are decent drivers the race will be close IMO:)

thats a good idea with the money thing i'm going to try that. Then when i take the GN off the jacks i'll tell him i will give him 5 car lengths and the first move. No i don't live in Beverly Hills i live in Delaware and i have two jobs to pay my paments and also i talked the salesman 6K of the price so i got it for 20K so thats why i bought the mustang if i didn't get that money off i would most likely be driving a civic around:( and hating every min. of it. :D thank god i got the mustang. yeah my dad is pretty cool when he bought it he picked me up from school but when i saw him he was standing in the lobby and then we walked out and he said does somebody in your school have a GN? then we walked over to the car and opened the door. that was great:D i almost **** my pants. i was not expecting that at all.
