So 2 weeks ago I see the weather forecast for the D/C area and then throw my stuff in my 90 Caddy Fleetwood, headed south. When I get near the Everglades, the digital speedometer occasionally goes to 0 and the engine skips at the same sime. I'm thinkin the speed sensor in the trans is going bad, even though in almost 20 years of turning wrenches, I have never seen one do this. Usually they leak fluid or stop working all together. And I replaced it 1.5 years ago, due to leakage. Then as I drive to the Key's it gets worse, even staying at 0 for many miles. I try to locate a sensor for replacement, but no luck. Then as I am driving north headed back, I noticed that it is doing it less. After I pass nothern Miami, it works fine, all the way back home. Then it dawns on me, I was in the friggin Bermuda Traingle! Did a bunch of research and it seems that the magnetic characteristics of the magnets in the sensor may have changed in the sensor while I was there. Wierd huh?
