So no matter how much i shorten my wastegate actuator the boost level never climbs above 11psi. After disconnecting the wastegate for emmisions testing the nut worked itself loose. So to be safe i lengthed the arm quite abit because i dint know where the boost was. It turns out it was 8psi, so i shortened it a few turns, giving me 11psi. Then i shortened it again, by one turn, still 11psi. Just today i shortened the arm again (2 complete turns), still 11psi. what could be up? vaccum problem? bad wastegate?

Puck sealing? Vacuum leaks? When I drove that car all the hoses were still original. The high boost it was set on when you got it might have worked something loose or failed some dry rotted line.

when i put on the BOV i replaced a good portion of vaccum line, one even split in my hand. everything else looked to be good, but ill do a more thorough check tommorow

Leaking boost through the BOV? - and curious as to why you have a BOV. Not bashing, just curious.

no, ive witnessed bosst leaking through a bov before and it makes a constant leaking sound which is quite noticeable. The buick that had it on before never had any problems with it either, even over 20psi.
I got the BOV because i think they are good pieces to have on an turbo car. besides, the sound of compressor surge is like nails on chalk to me

I would check the BOV again. They will not always leak. When you build boost to 11 lbs., it may open then. Are the hoses on the BOV connected correctly. Maybe backwards. Remember, nothing was done till the BOV was added.

backwards? i asssume you mean going opposed to th direction of the airflow? there is only one vaccuum line that goes from the BOV, it is connected directly next to the t fitting for my boost guage.

I just realised i didnt mention that it did this before the BOV was installed, ive only had it on there for a few days, the last time i adjusted the wastegate was the first time i did so with the BOV. I keep thinking that i might have messed up the wastegate somehow while adjusting it

Remove the hose from the wastegate actuator and plug the hose. Drive the car. Open the throttle gradually to avoid over boosting. If you make plenty of boost this way your boost controller is bad. If you had bad hoses the boost signal would never be able to react on the actuator wich means the wastegate would never open. This would create an over boost condition, not low boost.
