I decided to bite the bullet and order one of BWR's custom 3.5" inlet tubes.
Why a 3.5, and not a 3" or 4"(the most common sizes) do you ask?

Well, I wanted to keep my options open, and run with the minimum amount size reducers, because my K&N has a 3.5" opening, and I also have a 3.5"LS1 MAF. This way it's a matter of two clamps to change from MAF to Speed Density. I have a bin file for both in my Translator Pro so the switch between them is incredibly easy!! The only size reducer I have to run is a 3.5-3 to get it to my TE44.

Here's a link to nice reducers, I'll probably order one to replace the sewer pipe adapter I'm using now.

OUTSTANDING workmanship! The turbo sneeze at throttle drop is hugely reduced and the tone is changed extremely low.
Throttle response has picked up just a smidge better.

I'll post up some pix:
Painted metalic gray
pipe alone
followed by two pictures for speed density hookup for testing
and two pictures with the LS1 MAF installed for testing

Both tests were perfect.
