So i'm on youtube, looking around at random TB and street race videos and come across this. after taking a second look, i notice the very unique orange column lock and tach right behind the steering wheel, followed by a very familiar interior, and lastly a very familiar face. yes, i have confirmed it, these two videos are MY current car and the previous owner's son racing it:

YouTube - RX-7 VS. Buick Grand National

YouTube - bohdanko90's Channel

Not cool because he got spanked, or not cool because the dip sh!t was racing in traffic?

The drama continues...
Maybe he got spanked due to the "restrictive exh", the tps problems??

Someone drove a TR hard and possibly competed in a speed competition?

I know my first TR that I bought with 100K miles on it was NEVER race or drove hard.:D

The only problem I see here is your car getting spanked. You really can't get mad about it. It was HIS car at the time. I bet there isnt a Turbo Buick that hasnt been smashed on.

RX 7's kick butt !!! :p:biggrin:

Well, this was more of my concern - the fact that he ran the car while it had the problems i have recently been finding out about. For those that have better things to do other than share sarcasm, i just figured running the car with KR isn't a good thing and am waiting for my car to blow up now.

And for what its worth, i dont think he got "spanked" at all. From the roll he started a car behind and ended a car behind. From a dig he proved low-quality driving...no boost build, had the car in OD and had to deal with a downshift

fast rx7's

i've seen several in my days of street racing. went to school with a buddy who had a GSL-SE ( i think that's the model ) and that thing was stupid fast. i had several seom a 85 se to a 86 gl. they are soem quick cars i have to give it to them. but you win some and lose some, as for someone racing your car before you bought it. Give us a break, as one guy said there isn't one GN that wasn't ran hard. You have to expect it and for the owners son to be driving it, you know this kid probably did all kinds of stupid things in it. so anyone can say i didn't do this or that but you have to expect to have some problems with it regardless. So relax and take your lumps as we all have, unless you really know your stuff then you'll wind up regretting it because of some shiny paint job or the rims.

i dont know where the confusion is coming from, but i am not upset bc the car has been "ran" before. in fact, when i bought it, the owner told me he was selling it because his soon was stupid with it and got a lot of tickets. obviously, its been ran on. either way, i was simply starting to question the problems i could potentially be facing since this video is fairly recent (within the year). i ask this because in some of my other threads i have been talking about some KR problems...

I have had to actually work for a living lately and haven't been on this site much lately and was not aware that you were having issues with your car. Hope all is ok with your car.

Is this your first Turbo Regal????????????? If so, get used to issues, broken ****, random frames of knock, oil leaks, exhaust leaks, noises, unexplainable coolant loss, electrical gremlins, shall I go on?

These cars always have some sort of problem going on. Dont get upset cause somebody prior to you owning the car was out flogging it. Hey, look at it this way. Id rather have a car with decent parts on it that somebody was trying to dial in vs a dead stock car with stock fuel system that somebody turned the boost up on and put a Kenne Bell chip in it! LOL

welcome to the reality of how these cars are treated and why this site is here. you got taken as a rookie and that it wasn't raced, but are you happy with it and was the price fair.

i guess i'll repeat since it wasnt read the first time i posted it:

i knew the car was run hard...the previous owner told me the reason they were selling it was because his son got too many tickets and into a bunch of trouble with the car.

The fact that it had been raced at least twice in its life was not my point of making this thread. again, i am NOT UPSET about the fact that at least 1 person has floored it during its 22 years of living. i actually just figured it was kinda cool to see a video of the car in action (whether its good or bad), and i guess i was also looking for some educated input on whether these 2 instances shown would have any drastic effect on my recent problems/posts, for those of you who have been following along and helping. With every question or problem i come up with and put on this site, i give as much detail and information as possible. whether its relevant or not, i share everything to my knowledge because i feel/assume that it can only help the gurus who are being kind enough to lend some words or wisdom. THAT is why i made the post - because i know most of those who have been helping me with the tranny, TPS problem, KR, etc. will most likely have viewed it and again, i just figured that there is SOME possibility, whether it be small or large, that these races do play a significant role in what has recently been going on with my car

After I blew my motor I had it torn down only to discover that it was worthless and rebuilt with **** parts. The guy I bought it from completely screwed me. Lesson learned I guess.

Did racing the car lead to your problems? Absolutely. Whenever you go WOT on these cars you're rolling the dice. Hell, starting one up is sometimes a gamble.

Welcome to the world of turbo Buicks! Enjoy your stay and go introduce yourself to that big crowd over there. They're the ones with broken cars.
