Well, since I kept getting a" hardware timed out "error I then played with the ribbon connection(@ecm) while the car was running and accidently pulled the ribbon off the ecm.At this point the car died.I've tried everything to get the DS running but no luck.Previously all I had to do was play with the ribbon connection and the timed out error went away. Now nothing.Did I somehow fry the module by breaking the ribbon connection at the ECM while the car was running?

Was it ever working? If not then take the ecm out and clean the pins some more.....Then when your done, clean then some more.. When i first got DS i had a major hard time getting it to work, I would get the time out no matter what i did, then it started to give bad readings.......

I ended up carfully scraping the last part of the sealant off while brushing some solvent on with a small paint brush,

Good luck,

Thanks.I'll make sure the tabs are clean.Looks like cleaning the tabs just twice isn't enough.I did have it running two days ago.I'lll definitely give it a try.

I found something that will clean of that coating real well. It's called MEK(methyl ethyl ketone). We use it with one of our large printers where I work, but you can get it at most hardware stores. The more pure the better. I only cleaned my connector once with this stuff and haven't had to mess with it since. Give it a try......
