does the chip plug into the cars computer thats in the passanger kicker panel ?
Yes...it's pretty easy to do. Just remember to disconnect the power from the ECM - orange wire by the battery. In 1987 is was a regal with a T package. Most people commonly refer to it as a Turbo T as Turbotre posted.

cool , you guys are awsome ive only been on this forum for a day and lerned so much already !!!!!!!

If this car has no rust and isn't chopped up buy it. Go over the body with a fine tooth comb. Trust me, getting a car that isn't monkeyed up and has no rust, you'll be leaps and bounds ahead. DOn't worry about the motor, that shit can be fixed. Pull the sticks and check the fluids, make sure the trans shifts into gear and it rolls under its own power. I'd start at 6500. Do me a favor and get me some good quality pics, LOTS OF THEM

also get the numbers off the injectors and look at his receipts and let us know what's all there.

Paint looks like sh%& and you're going to spend 3k+ for a nice job. I'd check our for sale section myself.

damn, $3000+ to repaint the same or to make it black ? your the second person to tell me that!!!! i do have a real good friend that has a custom paint shop i hope it will be cheeper than that !!! what kind of paint do you guys use anyways, house of kolor ? i can hear the cash register chinging already !!! if i do get this car i hope $10,000 will finish her up or im gonna have problems with the wife , lol

That $3K posted is for someone like Macco to do their best, not a good shop. You'll spend at least $1K for good primer and paint if you want to do it right.

I think it's pretty hard to access the paint in that picture. The guy says it's near perfect and it looks like he took the picture with a ham sandwhich. I bet it could look pretty good in person.

Sorry, I didnt read all the replys,, so if it sounds like someone elses reply forgive me. I have purchased several of these cars and first off I would suggest that you decide on what your intentions are for the car, cruiser or racer and how much you intend to put into the car. I found it cheaper just to buy my last buick already modified the way I wanted it, if you buy a stock car and want to upgrade it you better have some pretty deep pockets. If your buying a project be sure to check floor pans and trunk pans quarter panels and so on for rust especially northern cars.

Yeah that's some piss poor pic taking. My 7 year old could do better. Hell my fuckin cat could do better and it doesn't have thumbs. As long as the paint isn't cracked it can be saved with some time. Yeah paint jobs aren't cheap, I have yet to find anyone to do a full job for under 5k. I had 1k just in paint, clear, and primer and me and a guy did it in the garage. Took forever but my car was fucked up full of rust and big ass dents. Paint would be the last thing I would worry about because some asshole is always gonna ding ya or semi is gonna chuck a rock and hit your header panel. I got a little over 2k just in painting mine. It's no show car by all means but it looks better than rust and dents. Plus I had to do jambs and I stripped the whole car. I doubt this car needs that. BTW, my car already has 4 known chips on it from driving it on the highway and shit. Don't expect them to stay perfect if you actually plan on driving it.
