I just can't win... I was down in Tucson over the weekend to attend my buddy's graduation party. So it's Saturday night about 10 PM, and I was sitting out front with a friend that had gotten sick

Then, while I'm sitting out there, I hear what sounds like firecrackers. A minute later, a car rolls by the front of my friends house, and I hear the sound again, but this time I hear the casings hitting the ground. Well, at this point, I know it's a gun, but I hadn't seen a muzzle flash. I assumed that the shots were either fired in the air, or more likely at the house across the street where I just so happened to have seen someone dealing drugs earlier in the day.

Being a little under the influence of alcohol :D I wait for the car to get down the street and start looking for the casings. Of course it was dark, so I didn't have any luck...

Well, the next morning, I find a 9mm casing in the street, and I realize that there definitely had been someone shooting a gun off. So I go to breakfast, and when we are getting in the car to go back to my friend's, I see a bullet hole in the driver's car. Well, now I'm starting to worry about my car... So we hurry home, and sure enough... one hole in the driver's rear quarter!!!

I later found out that another one of my friends who had come down to Tucson for the party also had a hole in her car. So, all three of the cars that drove down from Phoenix were shot!!! Turns out someone down the street got three shots in their truck, too.

Damn want to be gangsters! Good thing they only had a 9mm, so it only went through the sheet metal and didn't make it into the fuel tank or into the interior. As far as I can tell, the round pretty much disintegrated after making it through the inner sheet metal.

Nothing like owning a car for 6 months to have some losers drive by and shoot it

Jason

I've been joking around about buying a bunch of those bullet hole magnets and playing the game "Who can find the real bullet hole" :D

The cops told me that it looked like some a-holes were driving around shooting people's cars. Good observation!

In all fairness, the cop was a really helpful guy and even wanted to know how fast the GTO was. Turns out he has a Mustang that he likes to take the track. He even gave me his personal pager number, so that if I find any more of the bullet in my trunk, I can send it to him for evidence.

I doubt that they'll ever find the idiots responsible :frown:

Thank GOD that no one was injured or killed during this display of cowardice by the prepetrators. Glad you're OK, you can always get another GTO, not another you. Take care and be safe...

Sorry about the car, I am glad no body got shot by stray bullets.
Some people are just stupid, I have never shot a bullet with out knowing
were it would end up.

We just had a similar scenario play out in my town about two weeks ago. Two punks were driving around with CO2 pellet guns and managed to take out windows on 52 vehicles and even hit a house or two before they were finally busted.

Turns out it was two, supposedly homeless, losers who were living out of a Saturn and had nothing better to do. What turds!

To me, the worst thing about incidents like these is that they rarely catch the perpetrators, and as a result, the owner of the property is always responsible for repairing the damage. Furthermore, even if they did catch the perpetrators in crimes like these, it's generally some derelicts or kids that could never even afford to fix what they have damaged.

Think about how much money individuals and/or insurance companies (and ultimately the customers of the insurance companies) had to pay to fix all of the car windows that the losers in the Saturn shot out... Unfortunately, those "wastes of oxygen" will probably get a minor slap on the hand and do a minimal amount of time of community service. Rather than that punishment, they should have to find jobs with garnished wages to repay the costs of repairing the damages they caused.

uuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh dust the casings?? nooooooo dont do that lol. there almost ALWAYS a perfect thumbprint on the top of each casing... you know, while he presses in into the magazine lips??? lol. probably shoulda tried that huh.

Im really sorry about your gto man.

if

that sort of thing happens in georgia .......the kid doing the shooting is liable to get shot :) hate to sound like an extremist but about half of the people I know here (like myself) have carry permits....and we do carry.

I'm glad everyone was ok :)

My uncle's CRX got shot way back when. Didn't even make a hole, just a dent.

yeah weird if they are dumb enough to shoot cars then i bet they didnt wear gloves when loading the clip so maybe they should have been dusted for fingerprints.

I wondered the same thing about the casings, but unfortunately, the officer just picked them up with his bare hands. Honestly, people's cars getting shot probably isn't important enough for the police to spend a lot of money on. The punks will probably get off this time, but eventually they'll probably make a wrong move and get busted for something else.

As far as carrying weapons goes, I am in Arizona, and it's not too hard to carry a weapon here... of course, with me being well under the influence of alcohol, I probably would have had a hard time explaining why there were dead gangbangers in front of my friend's house.

Even more unfortunate is the fact that I was too drunk to think of checking the license plate... but I didn't even realize they had been shooting cars. Like I said, I thought they were shooting at one of the extra ghetto houses across the street where the crackheads live

That's terrible news... but better the car then you! Glad to see your okay, Nelson.

It happened near 14th St and Park Ave in the "Lost Barrio". We've been joking that it wasn't exactly lost on accident :D

The policeman told me that a truck had been shot three times near Tucson Blvd. and Arroyo Chico, too.

I'm not real familiar with the Tucson area, but I do go visit my friend down there on occasion.
