Well since buying the car last year, I put in a

5857 turbo -from stock

3" RJC- from stock

Stage1 200r-from slipping stock

Art Carr 9" 2800 Stall- From stock D5

Replacing all the ball joints, Bushings, new front tires and a few thousand dollars of other things :D

So After a few passes of 12.7 at 108 on only 15lbs, I decided to go a little into the motor to see if I can't get into the 11s. I scored a New Champion Intake, Champion fuel rails, and a GN1 72mm Throttle body for 650 and a Powerlogger, ECM and scanmaster for 280(yea I know;) ). I took a spare set of Iron heads to get ported and have bigger valves and double springs put in. I bought the 80lb injectors and a 6.1 Chip to replace my 5.7 and 42lb injectors Courtesy of Turbo Tweak. So I thought I would post some pics of my progress/install/results.

Looking great!!! And my gawd you got a deal on parts.

Sent from my iPhone using Turbo Buick

If I was in your position, I would not put that intake on the car. You will not benefit from having that on the car with a stock cam. You would be better suited to sell that and get yourself a good streetable hdy roller cam 210/210 and 853 lifters with that money, and port your stock intake to match your heads. The gains would be huge with those changes over that Champion intake. IMO the intake will hurt your performance at your level. A ported stock intake (preferably Champion) and Precision upper has yeilded the best results with a 109 motor (been in the 8's already with one, the stock intake ported).

I thought about that..I plan on doing this for now until I can build the spare block I have and then buy a roller cam package and upgrade my turbo, then go fast xfi and so on... Do you think It will help get me into the 11s at least?

Not with that intake. A stock untouched intake would be better suited for your application if you can't match port the stock one. That intake should be used on motors making big hp with 76 or bigger turbo's. You would lose performance and responsiveness by putting that on. Especially running at 15psi. It's taking your car in the wrong direction for sure. I know it looks good, but at this stage of your setup I would advise against it. It's ultimately your decision, I'm just offering you some sound advice that will move you in a forward motion, back back. The stock intake ported is so efficient it's not funny. If you can see past the beautiful eye candy the Champion intake gives, you will see it would be a mistake at this stage of the game to use it.

Problem is, these are torque motors that have to get it done before 5200 to 5500rpm in stock form using the stock cam. What this intake is doing is essentially robbing torque from your combo. That intake will lose at any given rpm or boost psi over stock in your application. I know it's not what you want to hear, but it's the truth. I actually tried that out when I was running mid tens. I was cautioned by it from Dan at DLS, but being me, I had to see it for myself. On the street it felt like I had a header leak. Spooled slower and didn't pull as strong. At the track I lost a couple tenths and 2mph. I took the intake off and went back to the stock ported Champion one with the Champion spacer and Precision upper (70mm throttle body).

Arp bolts and intake gasket in from Tom Allen at champion. Also powerlogger

Damn. Guess I need to re-evaluate. Thanks for the advice

Mike's car is MONSTER and he knows his stuff. I was going to post this morning, but knew someone would say this same advise. My build is in the 800+HP range with a Billet 67HPQ, and I was advised to NOT add this when I had the chance. In short...Mid 900hp or higher and well above 6000 rpm's. TSM/TSO basically.
Do you agree Mike?

I agree Coach. This intake needs to see big rpm (7500 to 8000+) to utilize its potential with a very healthy motor north of 900whp.

I thought for sure I would have had a blown gasket on that side
