i have a 86 regal limited that i am dropin a 3.8 turbo engine in, im sending hte block out to be bored decked all that good stuff so ill have a true "built" motor well bottom end i need to know what stock parts i can use or rather put back on the motor whenit comes back from the machine shop.

If your car stil has the original V6, then the block heads and rods would be the same. Everything else must be changed. Plan on spending approx $5-$8k if you piece it together.
The best way to convert a car is to start with a good turbo parts car. There is A TON of things that are different or that need to be changed. Basically, think of it this way......the only thing that your car has in common with a turbo car is that you have a V6 Regal. Everything else is different. I just completed a turbo swap on our Monte SS. Trust me, it gets VERY expensive.

???

why couldnt you just buy a complete gn motor complete as in wiring harness and computer turbo (poss. intercooler), in need of a rebuild, rebiuld it put it back together, get a good trans from a gn or monte ss or 442 trans all 200r-4 trans that will bolt to a gn motor, use my stock driveshaft, and a rear outta of a gn for not alot of cash to do the swap. very inexspensive, buying a complete motor is alot cheaper than peiceing it together,

oh and what was my question anyway?

One thing you mentioned that you can NOT do. You can NOT use a tranny out of any other car othre than a turbo regal. Even though the other G-body cars used the 200r-4, the internals are different for the turbo regals.

To answer your original question on reusable parts. If your block is getting bored then you must buy new pistons. Have the rods magged. If there good then recon them an use'em. I've heard you can put a used cam back in if you kept track of which lobes the lifters came from but IMO I think it's a bad idea. I'd buy a new cam and lifters ($165). Pray that you crank is good because they are difficult to find "uncut". Crank should still be ok if has to be cut 20. Also depending on how you are going to use the car I would recommend steel main center caps ($150) . If you are not going to be doing much racing then it's not as important. The machine work on the internal parts is important. The crank, rod and pistons should all be balanced. If you get main caps then the block will need line honed which I think should be done anyway regardless of any new caps.

Have at least a valve job done on the heads as well as valve guide seals.

Hope I answered all your questions.

Radiator, a/c lines, trans cross member, rear, exhaust system, power steering system, and on and on.
Are you mechanically inclined? If you arent, then it isnt the project for you. You would be better selling that car and buying a fixer upper turbo car. Take my word.
