What is the tallest radial tire I can get for my 15x4's? I know theres a 165r15 but I want something 27.5 or 28" tall! Any ideas>?

Anyone running 195/75/15's or 205/75/15 or 215/75/15
26.52 27.11 27.70

I currently run the BFG 205/70R-15 Traction T/As on my stock T wheels and they look like they could very possibly be installed on a 4" wide wheel due to how they look mounted on the 7" wheel. They measure 26.7" tall on the 7" wheel and would be slightly taller on a 4" wheel due to the bulging effect.
Checking the sizes between the two big tire discount companies, Discount Tire sells a 205/75/15 Uniroyal Tiger Paw with a SR Speed Rating.
Tire Rack sells what looks like 17 different tires in the 205/70/15 size that should work as well.

Here are the links.

No dice on 195/75/15, 195/70/15 from either company. You definitely want to run a brand name tire with some form of speed rating if you're going to be drag racing.
Then again, you could always go with a Mickey Thompson Sportsman Front that is 28" tall. This tire is DOT legal and is treaded for good street manners.

28" tall with 5.5" wide tread.
This is what I would probably do myself.

Hope this helps a little.

I have 15X4 centerlines on the front of my GN,and found that Firestone makes one thats 27'' and some change tall, and fits the 4'' wheel perfectly. My car is way low and these skins rub nowhere. Its Friestone FR-360,in205-65-15.They are cheap, and since they are inexpensive, they dont have some crazy sidewall pattern that looks stupid when they are all shined up.

195/75 on MT rims. I'm slow on the curves and potholes(always have been anyway:redface: ) since I got the skinnies, but they ride great. Not as much weight as the 205. And alot better rake than VW tires.

sorry no pics I'm computer illiterate, but they are 205-65-15's an odd ball size to be sure, but they're not hard to find.anyone who sells firestone ought to have'em.

These are 205 /75 /15's I forgot what brand, but they are just the right height and stance. plus a pleasure to drive on. They stop and dont sway any.

How tall is a 205 75 15 & how does it look on a 4inch rim?
