Guys. My car had a stumble. I adjusted the throttle screw. Got the I.A.C 25. Perfect. Then I set the T.P.S on 45. Again perfect. No stumble ... Thought I was the man. Took it out for a drive and it was amazing. Then I shut it off and the I.A.C went right back to 00. Its like the ECU reset its self. Waited a day cursed some and had a beer.. Next day started the car and the engine was racing. Check engine light came on. Once again I readjusted everything and once again ran great. Shut it off and restarted the engine and was racing again. Any thoughts. Here is my numbers while it was racing.
AF=09
L8=32
BAT=13.6
INT=128
BL=131
CLT=190
ATS=134
R=forgot to write that one down
TPS=78
IAC=58
CC=250
MAL==22
My question is why when I shut off the car do my settings change

It wasn't that high when I set it. Set it at 44. Drove it then shut it off. Restart it was 78. I don't get it

Are getting your settings then shutting off the car. Then restarting the car to re-check them?

Make sure the nut on the throttle blade/ arm is tight, and make sure the throttle arm doesn't have any play in it.

on my car the locking tab on the IAC was broken and it would start to come out little by little and the car would go nuts sometime high RPM other times it would shut off. give that a look.
Good luck Dude.

i hate bugs i have a few my self to fight off.

Two questions come to mind: First, are you reasonably sure the IAC pintle and throttle body air passage are clean? Second, before you adjusted the IAC, did you run the engine until HOT. Both of these are critical.

Also, if your original problem was an off-idle stumble, the IAC can not correct it. The only thing the IAC does is try to maintain the target idle rpm as programmed in the chip.

I ordered a new T.P.S and a new I.A.C . Just waiting on parts. Thanks for asking though.

Doesn't hurt to change out old parts. I don't think the stepper motor is seized. Maybe worn out a bit. New part couldn't hurt. Paided $17 bucks for it. Brand new part.Free shipping. Also purchased a new I.A.C.. Got that cheap too. Not much more. Ebay. Should have new stuff soon.Let you folks know how it turns out.
