I need an alternator for my GN . At least a 140 amp but would also like chrome. Can anyone point me to vendors that might have them or a board member that builds them like Bison does to turbos? Thanks

To get a chrome one and 140amp you're going to have to have it custom done. I'm guessing you're looking at atleast 400.00 bucks for it to be done. You could check your local electrical shops and chroming places...Or you could get the 200amp one above and the chrome cover...might be a cheaper option.

hello people; I got my original alt. rebuilt I think it was $100.00 if you still have it. That's with no chrome just as I like it.

visit your friendly neighborhood rebuilder... they will be able to tell you what you really need- no need to waste money for amps that you don't need- and rebuild your stock alternator with all the stuff to get the job done- all for much less than ordering one from somewhere.
if you want it to shine, pull it apart and polish it... not that hard to do with a few basic tools... then take it to the shop and have it put back together with the good parts..

Whatever you do dont get a 1-wire alternator.
