I am running my last parts to the powder coater and I need to know if I can re-use my stock compressor housing when I switch to the TA-49, otherwise I will just be wasting my money on getting that one painted since I will be going to a TA-49 by fall.

**I'm pretty sure they use the same housing, but I am unsure of whether the 49's is machined to fit or not.

Thanks in Advance

A stock 86/87 turbo compressor cover is used, but it won't be a direct bolt on cause the compressor wheel is larger on the 49, and it needs to be machined.
You might call PTE and ask to speak to Jim. You need to get confirmation that if you send them your powder coated comp cover, that they will use it to make a new TA-49. Here is the kicker. If you stock turbos compressor wheel has "touched down" ala rubbed on the housing bad enough that even when machining for the TA-49 wheel, it can't be used, then there's no sense having it coated. Why not purchase a CCA49 cover from PTE and send it out to the coater first? This way you know it can be used on a new TA-49 without any hassles or un-expected complications arising.
