Need 'bookshelf' audio advice...

I'm planning to buy a "bookshelf" stereo system for my house and was wondering if anyone has advice on a good unit or good websites to read reviews on these systems. I'm looking to spend around $300 on a compact unit with CD player, tuner and good sound quality. Do any come with DVD ability too?

I was thinking of getting the Sony 400W 60 cd changer currently listed on the bestbuy.com site 299.99 since my Aiwa shelf cd player decided to crap out and I missed the classaction suit by 25 freakin days
