No he doesn't. Those thins suck. The flexible cable has a curve on it from when it was on the spool.

Depending on how it's oriented it can read full while submerging the crankshaft weights in oil. Bye Bye oil pressure.

It's way worse on something like a chebby where the dipstick tube goes in at more of an angle.
