I've been running a 224 roller .496 lift on a 109lsa on iron heads for a few years, with stock rockers.

I have an opportunity to p/u some T&D adjustables. Ratio, though is 1.5 intake 1.60 exhaust.

I don't want to pull the head to check piston to valve clearance issues.....so is anyone running this combo without any other changes OR piston tovalveclearance issues.

Or just too close to call?

Thanks!

I run the 224 on a 110 lobe seperation angle with 1.65 T&D rockers and my lift is approx. .575 with no problems. So if you ask me I think you will be alright.

Robert,

Are you sure that the cam is a .496 lift? Larry Johnson, you and I bought our cams at the same time and Larry pulled up the cam specs for me and it shows us at .549 lift. I had the T&D 1.55's on mine and didnt have any problem with clearance.

No I was not sure. THANK YOU for checking! From the prior post, it looks like I may be ok and worth a shot. Would you please e-mail/post all the numbers off the cam spec sheet.

Now, that is what I call club/forum support.

Thank you for taking the time to post a response. Your post is very helpful. Can you confirm, with iron heads?

Again, thanks ! :)

Don't forget head gasket thickness!

Different cam but .496 lift. My heads and block have been "cleaned-up" one time by the machine shop. Used composite head gaskets and 1.6:1 rockers, forged Speed Pro pistons and no problems. It is the 218/212 roller Full Throttle sells.
