Need help choosing a garage heater

I'm trying to find the best solution for heating my garage when I'm working in it. It is a standard 2.5 car detached garage. I was looking at getting either a kerosene or propane torpedo heater around the 55,000 BTU range. I don't want to spend a lot of money getting a permanent gas heater. Any suggestions? Want to spend no more than $250 or $300.

Get something vented. Those torpedo and kerosine heaters will give you an awsome headache.

It will heat your sized garage up nicely. They have other wall mount stuff too.

Cool I like that setup. I do have a vent already installed on the side of my garage. I could just vent it out there. That looks like a much better solution than a portable unit. A little more money but it would be fumeless

I use the oil filled radiator heater in my spare bedroom for my birds, they have wheels on them to roll around. Not a permanent heat source, but pretty inexpensive. also not a bad danger of catching something on fire, the outer parts stay fairly cool to the touch. Probably 2-3 would heat your entire area, usually run $40 or less each at WallyWorld

never had any problem with my propane torpedo heater as far as headaches. they do take alot longer to heat up a garage then the kers ones but i like mine. picked up mine from menards. for i think it was like $50 bucks but you have to get a propane tank also
