I would like to eliminated the twisty mangled factory fuel line (supply and return) in the engine bay.

I would like to use Stainless Steel braded line with the proper AN or NPT fittings.

Has anyone done this? What do I need and how do I connect the lines?

Thanks
Curt

Curt,

I met you at the King of the hill thing at Staton. I own the G/N that had the missing intercooler bolts :D If you want to e-mail at quickturbov6@ameritech.net we can talk about the line and fittings you will need. I did my car. If you want you can come over and look at how I did mine. I live in Farmington Hills.

fuel lines

you need to decide what size line are u going to use.10.8.6. then decide how are you going to get it out the tank eg.,sump fitting on the bottom etc.

Anyone know the sizes (NPT?) needed to connected the fuel & return lines off the stock hard lines (in the engine bay) to the fuel rail?

fuel

do you mean off the fuel rail or the lines coming out of the frame?

RamChargers (ModernMusclecar) sold a kit to convert the stock fuel rail to braided steel line. It allows -8AN into the passenger side feed, and then -6AN coming out the bottom of the Fuel Pressure Regulator. I used a short sweep Earl's 90* fitting out the bottom of the FPR and then connected the -6AN. I then connected the -6AN line to the factory fuel feed line and made the appropiate hose switching at the tank pickup.

-8AN feed will support in excess of 700hp and gets rid of any factory kinks/restrictions that may be present. Costs about $175-225 to do yourself.

I was thinking of running a -6 return line. Does anyone know what size fitting you will need to screw into the bottom of the ATR FPR? Then off of that I could run the -6 line. If anyone would have a Russell or Earls part number that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Contact JB's powdercoating he has custom fuel rail fittings to covert the factory feed line to braided along with the return.
His fittings screw into the factory fuel rail without modifacations along with the fuel regulator. They attach to the factory line from the fuel tank where they come out of the frame rail at the front of the engine. He started cnc them affter I put a stage motor in my car. Ibelive he makes an 8AN / 10AN feed and a 6AN return.
No Butchering Needed !

I think there less than $20 a fitting.
