i had some one ask me a question today that i wasent able to awnser because of the fact that i have never needed to run 7 or 8 psi, could you all help me (and him) out in this area. i beleve its got something to do with a internal spring but im not sure.

"How do you adjust the amount of boost it takes to activate an INTERNAL wastegate? Most of the ones I see while I'm shopping say they're set to 10 psi or so, how would I lower that down to a reasonable (for the Si) 7 or 8 psi?"

I assume you are talking about an external wastegate,if so there is a nut with a allen adjustment for the spring.........tighten for more boost.........back off for less boost.

Would'nt you just lengthen the actuator rod to produce less boost? Maybe I don't understand the question.

please explain what in the world this has to do with TR tech?

nothing besides obideing by the motto "going fast with class" in my book that also includes helping people out.

well, help 'em out in the lounge...........that would be classy

a tech based question, i feel, is best in a tech forum but if you want twitch your nose all that you want and just try to move it.

this "was" a Buick tech forum as far as I knew

guess I was mistaken

It'll probably get more views and better answers in the general tech, why shouldn't it be? Woudln't you just have to put a lighter spring in the actuator to acheive that boost?

thanks alot, does any one know what spring (part number) that he could use to get the results he wants?
