Does anyone know of a shipping company that will ship a motor?? I'm in CT & it has to go to ILL.

Thanks
Jim

Hey Jim

I like to use FedEx Freight for shipping heavy stuff. They have a terminal in Milford. http://www.fedexfreight.fedex.com/l...S&shipperStateList=CT&btnsubmit=View+listings

Make certain your motor is strapped to a pallet and that it is stable. If your package is on the ground, you will need to specify a lift-gate truck. If it is on a dock, they will use a regular tractor trailer. Another thing to consider is that the driver can get access to the pick-up spot. Call to see if you can bring the motor to their terminal if possible.

Agreed with TRoGNman.

Also ROADWAY express will do it. Even cheaper if you bring the engine/pallet to a terminal in a pickup tuck.

I once sent a HUGE hamberger grinder machine to SAN FRAN from NHampshire. Terminal to terminal $87. weight was 200 lbs

I found a pallet free, Bought 3/4 ply & cheap 1x3x8' . You can use hinges from home depot pretty cheap. Pick up some Tie down straps for the motor. pretty easy.

shipping

DO NOT USE SBT ( small business transportation)
out of Merrillville,IN

took over 3 weeks to get shipped, and made promises they never kept!
blamed everyone , but still took 3 weeks to get picked up,

I have used Central Freight lines, were prompt, careful, and reasonable.
good luck.
